How many people can you hold? The
is Coast Guard certified for 90 persons, including the crew.
The number of passengers we can accommodate will depend on the number of
crew members required (2 minimum), entertainers, caterers, etc.
Are you handicap accessible? We are generally able to board wheel chair passengers,
depending on water conditions and the dock site we load from. An advance call is always recommended for special boarding
requirements. Bathrooms and the
lower level are not accessible to wheel chairs.
Can we bring small children on board? Absolutely! We
welcome all ages, although some special cruises may be restricted for younger
children. Children love the paddle
wheels, enjoy the open top deck, and the great views!
Can we book a different tour than what you normally take?
Yes, subject to safety and water conditions.
We are able to make “custom” runs on the Grand River and Spring Lake,
and into Lake Michigan, weather permitting.
We also can board passenger groups at various locations, subject to water
level and dock conditions.
How long are regular trips? Our regularly scheduled excursion trips are 1 hour and 1 ½
hour, however, we often schedule
special cruises ( luncheon cruises, for example) which may be extended. Charters
may book the vessel for lengthier trips. See our schedule and calendar for more
details.
Can we bring food on board and/or drinks on board?
Food may be brought on board with advance permission.
Passengers may not bring their own food for scheduled luncheon or dinner
cruises unless promoted by us. Sorry,
no beverages, other than single serving coffee or soft drinks, may be brought
aboard (no cooler, thermos, or beverage storage equipment.)
No alcohol beverages may be brought aboard at any time due to State
liquor control laws.
Can we book our own caterer? Exclusive charter users may arrange their own catering
service. Space and power
limitations require that all food service arrangements and equipment be approved
in advance. Private caterers may
not supply alcoholic beverages on board.
We are happy to help arrange for catered food with and partner with a
variety of quality local catering services.
Can we decorate the boat? Yes, for private charters or with prior approval, however,
time restrictions may apply. Our
revenue is affected whenever we are unable to be in operation, including time
set aside to decorate. Additional
charges may be required. We reserve
the right to deny any request for decorating.
Can we book our own entertainment?
Yes, for private charters, but only with our prior
permission. We reserve the right to
refuse permission for any entertainment for any reason.
Do you always go out into Lake Michigan?
No, although our captains always attempt to go to the
lighthouse at the mouth of the river, subject to weather and water conditions.
Are you licensed and prepared for emergencies? The Captain, crew, and vessel, are all licensed and/or
certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. The vessel undergoes annual Coast Guard re-certification
inspections and regulations governing the Captain and crew are strictly adhered
to.
